In Baslow, 10 new properties due to be completed next month are to be reserved for local residents. This low cost housing, which initially caused objections, has now been given the thumbs up by the villagers. These new properties are made of natural stone and traditional blue-tiled roofs, and have been built by Amos Developments of Leek. They have been funded by Derbyshire Dales District Council and the Homes and Communities Agency. The homes have been built following a successful development on Eaton Hill in the village, which helped allay fears surrounding these new houses at Low Meadows.
